TWO STEP TWO STEP

It's nearing the end of February...well actually we've managed to leap right into the end of February, and you know what that means....RACE SEASON! Last Sunday I strutted my stuff, SEDUCTIVELY LUNGING all over the Peterborough 1/2 MARATHON, for a respectable (and apparently not calling home worthy) 1:50 finish. I was happy to be under that treacherous 2 hour MARK (not that there's anything wrong with being on or over that mark...), but it showed me that I have some serious training to do if I'm gonna be marathon ready, or even around the bay ready this spring. To help get me race ready I have my new Barrie friends to motivate me and the U of T Tri Club to push me. Today we did a wicked brick workout - warm up, ride hard for 15 mins, sprint 1k, rest, another k of intervals, back on the bike for 15 mins speed intervals, then 2 more k of intervals on the track. Love it!
Lounging for the rest of the weekend. and by lounging, I mean running :)

TIMES SQUARE CAN'T SHINE AS BRIGHT AS YOU...

My last night in the city was as lovely as I could have hoped. Dinner with my new new york friends at Fred's, surrounded by pictures of dogs. how cute. For desert we hit up a totally authentic NY experience with Cafe Lalo - "With our unique European design and open air atmosphere by floor-to-ceiling French windows, Cafe Lalo is the place to see and to be seen. Come sip an espresso with the writers, artists and celebrities who join the locals to enjoy soothing jazz and classical music in a relaxing atmosphere"

Getting home from NY was an adventure in itself...left the westwing at 0745, subwayed it up to 125? to catch the bus - Monday it was +16C, today (Friday) it was a huge snow storm. So after waiting foreverrr for the bus it finally showed, and drove away...without me :( No problem, I'll just try to hail a cab while i wait for the next bus...20 minutes and counting later, no bus, no cab, no airport...
Finally a bus picked me up and off I was to La Guardia, arriving 5 minutes after my designated boarding time. No problem though, my flight was delayed. and then delayed again. and then finally canceled. wicked. but then i met a cute and friendly east coaster who kept me company until we got out names called for standby flights. It's seriously like winning the lottery!

Since I've been home it's been non stop action, and will continue straight into next week.
