CHRISSIE WELLINGTON!

Today is the Kona Ford Ironman World Championships in Hawaii. My dream race. And what a race! The men turned out a real race on the bike and ultimately Chris Alexander dominated the run to finish first in 8 hours 20 minutes!
Chrissie Wellington! OMFG! She is my HERO! She pedaled effortlessly on her pink and white Cannondale through the lava fields....and then ran a blistering fast pace for the run and broke the Kona Record with a time of 8:54:02!!
Unfreakingbelievable!
To put this in perspective, Paula Newby-Frasier, the "Queen of Kona" who had the previous record of 8:55:28 in 1992, won this race 8 times!
And me, superstar IronPLeTTe do this race in 13:25.
So Chrissie, you ROCK MY SOCKS!!
Mirinda set a new record for the fastest woman marathon at Kona with a sprinters pace of 2:56. Amazing! And didn't even look tired at the end!!
AND Tereza Macel (from Toronto, who captured first in Lake Placid and Canada this year just a few weeks ago!!) finished in an amazing 4th place!
(I'm writing this live as I watch the men and women cross the finish line! It's emotional and unbelievably exciting!!) YOU ARE AN IRONMAN.....
Just waiting for Belinda now...
So proud of these ladies and so happy to be a woman is such a fantastic sport with amazing role models to look up to!
