COMFORT OF STRANGERS
I walked through the doors to the hospital that I am doing my clinical rotation at today - greasy hands from fixing my bicycle chain on the way, when I got a phone call. the kind of phone call no one likes to receive. I sat on the bench by the pool for a minute before going upstairs to find my clinical instructor.
-Paulette, you're working with Jennifer today!
-My grdsssdffadd eeeeed
she stood there staring at me, along with the rest of the staff working that day
- I can't understand what you are saying. and continued to stare at me
Finally she brought me aside, away from all the onlookers to see what the commotion was and I was able to get out a full sentence
- So what do you want to do? I can't evaluate you if you're not here.
What ever happened to showing a little compassion and sensitivity?
