TIRED OF USING TECHNOLOGY
Since I've been hanging out and doing most of my runs at the lounge lately I decided to try out the Nike+ Ipod System the other day. Most days I run with my super cute and tiny shuffle, but since I'd heard so much about Nike + I figured i'd give it a try.
First off, I didn't have pockets to put the ginormous nano, so I had to borrow a shirt. A pink shirt. Which I layered with my red shirt, so I looked like a big happy running valentine. tres cool. after taking ~ 10 minutes to get the damn ipod into the shirt pocket (the shirts are specifically made to fit and work with the nanos), we were already 15 minutes late starting the run. Pushed the center button to begin my workout and off we went.
Since I'd never even ever touched a nano before I didn't know how to change the volume, song, anything...the music was too loud and kept playing a stupid monster song, so finally i just tucked the headphones away.
Second attempt with the Nike + system. I ran almost an hour and got back to have my ipod tell me I ran a total of 6 seconds.
Third attempt I accidently paused it mid workout.
Ready to give up...a staff challenge was created ....Who can run the most km's in 30 days. In order to take part you need to use the nike+ system...Not one to give up a challenge, I signed out the Ipod and convinced myself it couldn't be that hard to use! It's a freakin ipod and I'm a smart girl!
Anyways...I sooooooo love it now! It keeps track of everything. Time. Distance. Calories. Pace. has a special designated power song for when the going gets tough. simon withfield even has his own personal playlist on it :) And today at the end of my run, I got a lovely message from Lance Armstrong congratulating me on running my fastest mile pace so far. YAY!
It's pretty convenient and not so difficult to use once you wrap your head around the actual ipod - i'm used to my two button shuffle...but the little chip in the shoe is unnoticeable and once you get it into the strange little shirt pocket its great, b/c you can still push the buttons and stuff through the shirt.
and I'm sooo winning the challenge!
Now I'm not so sure I can go back to shufflin...
