WINTER CYCLING...FUN FOR THE FIRST 10 MINUTES...

Yesterday I decided to put all my new fun winter riding gear I got for Christmas to good use. It was about -10C with little wind, and since it had been warm the previous days with lots of rain, the snow had all cleared from the roads. Perfect. I dusted off Cervelo, pumped up my tires to 130 PSI, vaselined my feet, cycle socks, sports bra, LG arm warmers, nike long sleeve drifit, drifit tank, long sleeve zip up, sugoi Ironman vest, nike thermal tights, sugoi bike shorts over top, look bike shoes, LG booties to cover my shoes, winter hat under my helmet, 2 pairs of gloves, mittens in my pockets to change into in case my hands were cold, bandanna for my face, sunglasses to block the wind. ALL SET.
It took me about an hour to get ready, and about 15 minutes to realize all these layers and fancy smanchy gear wasn't going to keep my fingers and toes toasty. I made it down to the Lakeshore, about 6km's out, before wimping out and pedaling home to retire Cervelo until the weather network starts giving me + symbols
