SOO EXCITED!!

An Ironman consist of a 2.4M open water swim, 112M bike, and 26.2M run. I just freakin won entry into the Penticton, BC IRONMAN CANADA!!! EEEEEK!!! My Dad paid $1000 to register for this race and had to register the exactly one year in advance. This is soo freakin amazing! And so freakin scary! 140 freakin miles! Do you know how long that is going to take me??? A LOT OF FREAKIN HOURS! And I LOVE IT!

Here's the email that got me in...

Let me start off by letting you know that socks are by far my absolute favorite accessory. All the colors and styles! How can you not get excited about buying new socks!?!? I have a huge sock collection in my tiny apartment and it's the first thing I throw into my bag for race day. And which socks is it that I'm throwing into that bag? The Running Room's Wigwam Triathlete Ultra-Lite Running Sock. Sounds fancy doesn't it? This sock is fantastic. They make my feet feel like they're snuggled into a perfectly personal fitted sock and also keep my feet dry and blister free :) I never run without them. When I take my shoes off at the store to try on new sneakers the salesperson usually exclaims 'wow, those are some well loved socks!' - they get a lil dirty from summer trail running...

So, I am hoping that these Wigwam socks will take me all the way to Penticton, BC, where I can join my Dad on the start line of IRONMAN CANADA. We started running together many years ago and competed in our first ever 5K together and were hooked ever since. From 5Ks we challenged ourselves to 10Ks, sprint triathlons, marathons... Last summer we completed our first 1/2 Ironman in Peterborough, ON and had a blast. This year my Dad is getting ready to compete in his first ever Full Ironman. At the time he was registering for this race I was unable to invest in this event as I am still a student (just finishing up my nursing degree at U of T). Although he could likely use me as a Super Fan on Race Day, it would mean the world to me if I could be on the start line racing beside my Dad (or slightly behind him) at IRONMAN CANADA...with our matching Running Room Wigwam Socks of course!
