I CAN BE YOUR HERO BABY!

Last week in Cancun, Mexico, Simon Whitfield claimed his 10th (3rd this year) World Cup at the Cancun BG Triathlon. Even with his new life as "pops" he is having an amazing triathlon season! Simon Whitfield, you amaze me! Cannot wait for the 2008 Beijing Olympics!!

Also last weekend, Paula Radcliffe, fastest marathon woman in the world, shook off rival Gete Wami (who won the Berlin Marathon just 35 days prior)at the New York City Marathon. After training through pregnancy and giving birth last January to a beautiful little girl, Paula pulled ahead at the 25.5 mile mark to win by 23 seconds, in a time of 2:23:09. "I’ve been there so many times,” Radcliffe said. “I was determined it was my turf.”She is unstoppable!
Also, special mention of Robert Cheruiyot, who at one time was homeless and couldn't afford 3 meals a day - he's been rockin the marathon world lately, and just won the World Marathon Majors Award!

My real life pops. "I'm getting a cast put on my foot tomorrow. I'll still be able to bike with it on...I just need to make sure it comes off before Boston". The man who brings true meaning to the words "You'll pass out before you die". If there's one thing in life that he's taught me is to always give my best, don't worry what others think about you and never give up! (i guess that's three things...but who's counting?)

And, last, but definitely not least, Katie Kirkpatrick. Not the first time she's been profiled on A day in the life.. as favored in an upcoming race...KK will take off from the start line of the Vancouver 1/2 Marathon in less than 2 weeks with the entire Country cheering her on from Coast-to-Coast.
Keep the wind at your back :)
