EXTRA SPRINKLES PLEASE
So, I got an email from UTEA-SSH informing me that I've been chosen for a research award for the summer! WOOT WOOT! is what I was thinking! After discussing when I could start, as we only have 8 weeks off in the summer, I quickly responded to accept the offer. Finally a decent summer job with decent pay. I was all set. Until today...
"I regret to have to tell you that the UTEA-SSH award cannot be held by students enrolled in the B.Sc.Nursing program. The UTEA guidelines are specific about this restriction (see http://www.research.utoronto.ca/funding/fa_ai_ssh.html), and your application was forwarded to the committee in error."
I only applied for the freakin award because they came to my Nursing Class to tell us about it and pass out applications! Applications which were also handed in at the Faculty of Nursing Office! This is so stupid and annoying.
Looks like I might be serving up lattes for cute boys this summer after all...

jiI'll take my latte with an extra creamy reward on the top.
Seriously they should be ashamed of themselves. Mostly because there's NO reason a nursing student should be discouraged from research.
//We don't want real people coming into research and seeing what we really do!!

I recently completed a course called "Nursing and Research". Hopefully there are others in this field of work with more merit then my professor.
Paulette, this may be a blessing in disguise.

Never take a "research" class if you can help it. As far as I can tell, they teach you nothing about conducting it.
/Sam, what's your slash comment about?
